Eligibility and Basic Requirements

Citizens of over 70 countries are eligible to apply for an Uzbekistan eVisa, including:
  • United States and Canada
  • United Kingdom and all European Union member states
  • Australia and New Zealand
  • Many Asian countries including China, India, Japan, and South Korea
You can check your eligibility on the official eVisa portal by selecting your country of citizenship.

No. If you are a citizen of a country that has a visa-free travel agreement with Uzbekistan, you do not need to apply for an eVisa.
The eVisa portal will automatically notify you if you are exempt when you select your country of citizenship. Visa-free stays are typically limited to 30 days.

Children under 16 years old do not need an eVisa, provided they:
  • Are travelling with a legal guardian (parent or appointed guardian)
  • Have their own valid passport
  • Have a birth certificate showing their relationship to the guardian
Children aged 16 and over must apply for their own eVisa.

Application Process

The standard processing time is 2 working days. However, we recommend applying at least one week before your intended travel date to allow for any potential delays.
Note: Processing times may be longer during peak travel seasons or holidays. Weekend days and public holidays are not counted as working days.

You need only two digital documents:
  1. Passport scan: Digital copy of your passport's data page (JPEG format, under 500KB)
  2. Photograph: Recent passport-style digital photo meeting ICAO standards (JPEG or PNG format)
Your passport must have at least 6 months validity remaining from your intended entry date.

Once submitted, applications cannot be edited. If you discover a significant error (such as incorrect name or passport number), you must:
  • Submit a completely new application
  • Pay the visa fee again (fees are non-refundable)
  • Wait for the new application to be processed
Prevention tip: Have someone else review your application before submitting, especially names and passport numbers.

Payment and Fees

Currently, only Visa cards (credit or debit) are accepted for payment. Other card types such as Mastercard, American Express, or Discover are not accepted.
Note: The cardholder does not need to be the same person as the visa applicant. You can use a family member's or friend's Visa card for payment.

No. The consular fee for the Uzbekistan eVisa is non-refundable under all circumstances, including:
  • Application rejection
  • Cancelled travel plans
  • Errors in the application
  • Changes in travel dates
This is why it's crucial to double-check all information before submitting your application.

Travel and Entry

The Uzbekistan eVisa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue (not from your intended entry date). Within this 90-day period, you can:
  • Stay in Uzbekistan for a maximum of 30 days
  • Enter once (single-entry), twice (double-entry), or multiple times depending on your visa type
  • Enter at any official border crossing or airport

Yes. All foreign visitors must register their stay within 3 days of arrival. Here's how:
  • Hotels and licensed guesthouses: Will register you automatically and provide registration slips
  • Private accommodation: You must register at the local OVIR office
  • Keep all registration slips: You may need to show them when leaving the country

The standard tourist eVisa cannot be extended. If you wish to stay longer than 30 days, you have two options:
  1. Apply for a visa extension at the local OVIR office (complex bureaucratic process)
  2. Do a "visa run" - leave Uzbekistan and apply for a new eVisa from a neighbouring country
Important: Overstaying your visa is a serious offence that can result in fines, deportation, and entry bans.
